Ever ask yourself if you really are saved in Christ? True saving faith always produces obedience and submission to the Lordship of Christ (and to God’s Word). We are to examine ourselves (1 Corinthians 11, 2 Corinthians 13, James). As we examine our own salvation, we should ask “Am I growing in the holiness of Christ and maturing in the knowledge of His Word?”
Scripture is so full and rich. Any believer who does not immerse himself or herself in it doesn’t know what they’re missing and ends up losing blessings and opportunities to serve the Lord.
My seminary professor’s newest book is written in response to the controversial (some say heretical) book by Rob Bell Love Wins. Dr. Michael Wittmer’s book is Christ Alone: An Evangelical Response to Rob Bell’s ‘Love Wins. Knowing Dr. Wittmer from being in his classes, I can say he is a very balanced and responsible theologian of the Cross. Check out his book and let us know what you think.
